I work and play on the Semiahmoo Peninsula and live in Ocean Park (South Surrey, BC). I’ve been in full-time, paid, accountable ministry for over 30 years. I was ordained as a minister by the North American Baptist Conference in 1993. My search for a progressive and inclusive denomination led to my admission to ministry in the United Church of Canada.
I was born and raised in Winnipeg, did my M.Div. at Sioux Falls Seminary (South Dakota), and have ministered in rural South Dakota, Winnipeg, and Calgary. In 2014, I completed doctoral studies with Leonard Sweet at Portland Seminary. My dissertation, “The Great Co-Mission: A Postmodern Missiology,” was informed by and has informed my ministry with congregations.
My partner is a school teacher with Surrey School District. We live with two Egyptian street cats and an outnumbered but friendly dog named Geddy Lee. I enjoy playing guitar, making coffee, riding my bike(s) year-round, and boxing. I’m looking forward to getting to know people in the Pacific Mountain Region.
