The Spiritual Book Club will meet on Thursday, February 27 at the Crescent site on 127th Street to discuss Harlem Shuffle by Colson Whitehead. The story takes place in New York City in the early 1960s and is described as an extraordinary story about an ordinary man, a family saga masquerading as a crime novel, a hilarious morality play, a social novel about race and power and, ultimately, a love letter to Harlem.
Copies of the book are available through the Surrey and the Fraser Valley Library systems. The book club meeting runs from 1 PM to 2:30 PM. Newcomers are welcome. Please contact the church office if you have any questions.
