Our United Feet on the Street will be taking part in the Coldest Night of the Year Walk to be held on February 24th.
This event is all about fundraising for our White Rock South Surrey Community Resources Society.
Here is a message from their Executive Director George Passmore:
"Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to see how the funds we raised from last year's Coldest Night of the Year event have helped people who are hungry, hurting and homeless.
In addition to supporting our homelessness prevention program and the free youth counselling program, CNOY raised enough money that we were able to purchase a transit van that Sources Peer Support Team have been using to do community outreach across the Peninsula, offering connection, food, warm clothing and harm reduction supplies to people who are struggling with homelessness, substance use and/or mental health challenges.
This year, we hope to be able to create two positions that will help the most vulnerable members of our community to navigate all of the complex systems that will enable them to live better lives."
How can you help???
